Recently, I had the chance to attend A Food A' Faire at the downtown market in Grand Rapids. The event was an effort to bring the community together in order to bring attention to healthy eating and education for the inner city schools of Grand Rapids. The night was followed by a silent auction and detailed a large variety of market favorite horderves. Every part of the night was perfectly planned from the entertainment which included men and women walking around in costume and even a women wearing a table skirt! I had a blast alongside my coworkers. I think the downtown market is a great place for people to come together to enjoy delicatessens, artistry, produce, and great service. I do appreciate having a gourmet market, but I highly encourage farmers markets. I love being in front of the people who worked hard to bring you your goods, and being able to thank them for it makes it all the worthwhile. It brings an element of community. Often times fresh produce are much more accessible and budget friendly at local farmers markets. I find that living in highly urbanized places makes it difficult to have access to healthy foods, let alone concentrating on vending and pricing these goods at affordable rates for all people. I have to admit, I would have never been able to attend an event like this out of my own expense, but my company was able to provide me with a great experience. I think that hosting events like this is a great way to express and educate ourselves to look outward.
Today I was craving something sweet, and these days are the best and worst to face! But luckily it only happens to me like 3 times a month where I just get this urge to run out for a sweet! That's okay? My point is, I went and checked out That Early Bird Café, and I had a very pleasant experience. I think we needed something like this in Grand Rapids. It's very open and minimal. They serve food, espresso, and desserts ;) I love the space, and I love seeing that it's open for all age groups. Typically these cafés are filled with young people, but it was pretty refreshing to sit next to an elder woman reading a news paper (makes me think about my Grandma, can't wait to see her this weekend!!!). I thought she was so sweet, minding her own ❤️ And I was over here on my phone 😜 Anyways, check out the café I think it's worth the visit. They also have these adorable seats for little kids... PS my machiato could fit in the palm of my hands, this picture doesn't do it justice of how cute the glass was! Have a great weekend all. Cheers! ☕️
Guys, I really love this company! I was introduced to it while I was in France, and fell absolutely in love with the make-up line. I really don't splurge on make-up, and was never really into it until I came across this company BECAUSE it is ONE: Affordable & TWO: Unique. KIKO does a great job with delivering quality make-up on a budget. I've never been happier with my mascara, and I am always being asked if I wear fake eye-lashes. The answer is "no" but thank you for the compliment! My make-up lasts me forever, and I am being honest when I say this. As of right now, there are several KIKO stores in the U.S., but what's even better is that shipment is FREE for orders over $15.00 (U.S.)!
So! Since I'm really running low on mascara and with the timing of things, I've decided that I really wanted to spread some Holiday Cheer and give away my favorite line of the KIKO mascara that I utilize. Totally brand new, and just placed my order! In order for you to participate, I ask that you spread some love as well. Please @mention 3 of your friends, include a reason for why they're beautiful! I will be watching and reading the kind notes that you make. The contest will run until this Sunday, and I will DM the winner on your Instagram account. Sorry, there is only 1 winner at this time!
Thank you friends, and I hope you have a Happy Holidays! I am having a lot of fun with this so please be sure visit my Instagram in order to enter and the KIKO page in the link below <3
Okay, so there are a lot of bloggers out there, and honestly I have a few that I love and in which I definitely want other people to know about too. So if you're into fashion, beauty and lifestyle as well as a lot of giggling babies and just pure happiness, I have a couple suggestions for you! For the majority of my beauty tips and styles,
I follow Amber Fillerup Clark (like excessively...ugh...like more than Justin Bieber lately, UGH again...I'm disappointed in myself) ANYWAYS, do follow her @barefootblonde ! I swear you will become just as obsessed as I am. She is really great for hair styles and beauty tips, and sometimes I think I can do my hair better than her...but we all like to dream. Even better, she is coming out with her own extension line, which I can't wait to see! She also has two adorable kids, Rosie and Atticus who are just like little rugrats, and they definitely will melt your heart!
The Bucketlist Family
My other obsession currently is @thebucketlistfamily. Ok, so who wouldn't want to be an extremely exotic hot couple, with two adorable kids while traveling the world without a care in the world? Yeah, I didn't think so either. I am absolutely obsessed with them. Like again, so disgusting...but I added both Jess and Gerrit on LinkedIn...like guys I went that far, and may I add they have recently both accepted as well as liked my photos on instagram. Yay, points for me...not like anyone was counting anways. So why do I love them?
They have the cutest kids, and they are so fearless to try new things. Like they swim with giant whales, sharks, and bungie jump. They've racked up a bunch of vlogs, so I encourage you to watch the video below. Their kids names are Dorothy and Manilla, and I specifically chose this video to show you their personalities. Sometimes Dorothy or Manilla will do something so sweet or cute and I will literally start crying while I'm cooking dinner, and it's not the onions people, it's their cuteness.
Do you have anyone else that I should obsess over? Do they happen to travel or show you how to do really sweet things with their hair and have cute kids? If so, I am on that! BUT really, check them out...
PS coincidently both bloggers chose the same song for background music :O!
